Are Eye Creams Worth It??
Are Eye Creams a necessary step as part of a skincare routine?
To many it is or considered non-negotiable. The problem I have is that many of the brands use *almost* the exact same ingredients as their facial moisturizers? So what in actuality is the difference I say. Plenty do contain a very good combination of ingredients (i.e. whether it be caffeine, green tea extract, retinol, hyaluronic acid, peptides, Vitamin K, Vitamin C, just to name a few) that target specific concerns around the orbital (eye) area that can reduce puffiness, dark circles, fines lines, wrinkles or crow's feet, and even firming. Eye creams tend to be bit of a richer & more emollient texture for ones that are very helpful to combat dryness as well.
Users with more acne-prone skin can experience breakouts around the orbital area, gel-based textures are also great. The cooling sensation of gels are excellent for de-puffing and overall brightening underneath. So, yes, eye creams aren't a total loss. However, they can be quite costly for many being a half-ounce and almost twice the price than it should be! I always want to be transparent with my readers, this is also in my personal opinion on my take on them. However, when applying your eye cream or using your facial moisturizer. It's very important to apply using your ring finger. Since it applies the least amount of pressure, since your not dragging it either. The skin around the eye area is the thinnest skin on our bodies, which also being the most delicate which is the place to normally show the very first signs of aging/fatigue. Since our skin in general is the largest organ of the body, it's important to become familiar the basics.
Around the orbital bone, you will just tap around using light pressure, just as in the photo above shows of where application would go (where the arrows go). Your facial skin & eye area should be treated with the utmost gentle care and love. Also, with facial & eye skincare products it can truly be trial and error. It can take some searching to find out what works for your skin and what it does agree with or doesn't. Don't lose hope... Skin care is a journey but you're more than likely to find your way! ^_^
Yours truly always,
